Bully Dog is now able to offer a complete performance package.īully Dog Technologies, LLC ( "Bully Dog") warrants that the Product (meaning solely the physical Product or parts contained within the Product kit and excluding any installed or installable software, which is governed by a separate Software License) will be free from defects in material and manufacture for one (1) year from date of purchase by the first purchaser of the Product who puts it into service (the "Purchaser"), exclusive of Bully Dog distributors, jobbers, and dealers. In 2005, the company expanded its range of products to include performance products for gasoline-powered vehicles. With the introduction of electronic components and software to improve performance, they began to research new types of products like intake and exhaust systems to complement their electronic components. Bully Dog's mission was now to be recognized as the leader in the diesel performance industry. These systems were first sold out of their farm shop, but as demand increased, they moved the company to another location and officially organized Bully Dog. In 1998, Bully Dog's owners took this concept and developed and patented a safe and effective propane injection system to enhance diesel engine performance. Several years prior to the company's inception, Harold had experimented with increasing performance on his diesel farm tractor by injecting propane into the engine's combustion chamber. The founders of Bully Dog – Michael, Phillip, and Daryl Klassen - were heavily influenced by their father Harold's interest in improving vehicle performance. Still waiting to hear back from Dan at Magnuson.Bully Dog® was formed in 1998 in Aberdeen, Idaho. Spoke with a Toyota tech today, not much help. Is the main issue the Tacoma ECU not allowing you to readily switch back and forth between tunes? Or once the BD is installed, you can only switch between their tunes. If the tune in the BD is from Magnuson, what's the deal with the other tunes available from BD? Does the BD tuner let you select different maps for stock/performance/towing? Is the TRD factory SC tune even an option for me since the ping reflash? Will the BD tune work with the ping reflash? Will the Leaner BD tune be safe for towing when on the boost under a load for long periods when climbing a hill with a trailer? The pulley, intake, exhaust and what not. Are you running everything stock? From what I can tell, those who have the most problems with the BD are when things get modified.

I've also read that a few of you have had no trouble with the BD tuner. Now I am considering getting the TRD tune from the dealer, but the only issue (from what I've read) is that my ECU got the reflash to stop the pinging a few years back. I'm not even planning on changing the intake or pulley.Īt the time, I was aware that Magnuson supplied their tune, but not all the issues behind the Bully Dog Tuner. I want to keep everything as reliable as possible. The boost in power is nice, but just being able to have sea-level horsepower for towing in the mountains is the only reason I got it. I got the SC because I want to pull a small travel trailer (around 3500lbs).

I plan on doing the install sometime later this month when I'm back home from work. It's being shipped to my place in Idaho and should arrive tomorrow. Spoke with Dan, he offered me a good deal and I took it. I happened to be in SoCal and walked into the shop. Last week, I pulled the trigger on a Magnuson SC. I have a bone stock '12 Tacoma DCLB 4x4 with the 4.0L. I have searched this topic heavily, and it has raised more questions than answers.

Performance & Tuning was the appropriate spot. Sorry, I originally posted this in the Technical Chat.
